Lili’u’okalani Gardens

The beautiful Lili’u’okalani Gardens, located in Hilo was named after Hawai’i’s last reigning monarch. The Japanese inspired garden, which was built in 1917 through 1919 sits on 24 acres that were donated by Queen Lili’u’okalani.

Rainbow Falls

Rainbow Falls is one of the many falls we have here on Hawai’i Island. It is 80 feet tall and flows over a natural lava cave.

King Kamehameha Statue

We will do a brief stop at the statue of King Kamehameha I that stands in the heart of Hilo town. King Kamehameha, who was also known as “Kamehameha the Great” was the creator and ruler of the “Kingdom of Hawai’i”.

Lava Devastation

We’ll head out to Pahoa on the East side of the island and see the destruction and creation of land that has taken place throughout the years as well as the 2018 lava flow fissures and devastation. Hear all about it from our guides who were at the forefront of all the action.

Uncle Robert’s Awa Bar

This home, now turned into a popular local spot survived the 1990 lava flow. Here you can get a bite to eat or grab yourself a delicious smoothie or acai bowl made with fresh island fruits. While enjoying your smoothie you can take a short hike with our guide over the lava field to the black sand beach or check out the local gallery.

Pohoiki

Cruise the beautiful scenic Puna coastline to Pohoiki and walk on the world’s newest black sand beach made up of solidified lava.

Big Island Candies

Our last stop will be to Big Island Candies. They have an array of deliciousness that is made right there in their factory. Try their signature chocolate dipped shortbread cookies. If you can’t decide, there are a cookie and chocolate candy samples for you to try throughout their store.
